Extended Library Closure September 7 – September 27
We will be closed from September 7th through September 22nd for electrical work and restoration of our beautiful floor. The digital library will be available as always and the staff will be monitoring emails but there will be no curbside pickup during that time. Stock up on books today, Friday, and Saturday morning.

For a limited time you can come into the Library! Everyone who enters MUST wear a mask and observe social distancing. Limited access from July 29 through August 8 (weekdays 10 to 5, Saturdays 10 to 1). Curbside pickup is also available.

Public Hearing on Internet and Computer Use Policy and Filtering via Zoom
The Stonington Free Library will hold a Public Hearing on Thursday, May 28, 2020, at 4:00 P.M. via Zoom Virtual Meeting Platform to discuss its Internet and Computer Use Policy and web filtering software.
State Bond Commission approves $145,000 grant for the Library
The State Bond Commission approved a $145,000 grant for the Stonington Free Library on Wednesday, December 18th, 2019. The Library was awarded the funding by the State Library Construction Grant Program last year. Once awarded, the Library was required to raise matching funds within a year before seeking bonding approval. Thanks to our generous community the matching funds were raised through awards from state and local governments, foundations and private individuals.
October is Dyslexia Awareness Month
Dyslexia is a specific learning disability in reading. People with dyslexia have trouble reading accurately and fluently. They may also have trouble with reading comprehension, spelling and writing. This post includes many resources on dyslexia.
