OUTREACH

Library book bag

The Library is dedicated to expanding its reach beyond its physical walls. Library services, programs and collections are brought to community members who would or could not access them otherwise. Our outreach initiatives include online story time and read aloud programs, a book group at a local senior living center, four Little Free Libraries, monthly book clubs, and more!

Five Little Free Libraries have been installed at Stonington Point, Mathews Park, the Children’s Playground near the Town Dock and Wimpfheimer Park near the Velvet Mill. This effort was funded by the Stonington Village Improvement Association and built by the shop class at Stonington High School. Our newest addition is located at New Heights in Pawcatuck. The SFL will be stocking and maintaining them. They are registered on the Little Free Library website.
