Mission Statement
The Stonington Free Library seeks to provide a variety of opportunities for our patrons to engage in thoughtful book discussions. The library hosts a book group on the second Thursday afternoon of each month. The book group reads a variety of genres with the goal of reading books they might not have picked up otherwise. Titles are selected by members and books are ordered in advance so that everyone has as much time as possible to read the titles.
The Stonington Free Library also provides materials for private local book groups. Local book groups can request multiple copies of titles for specific dates so that their members can participate in the book discussions without having to purchase books every month. StoneRidge, Masonicare, and Stonington Human Services also host book groups with materials gathered by the Stonington Free Library.
