Celebrate Women’s History Month with local author Tom Verde as he presents his book Queens of Islam.

Queens of Islam is a compelling exploration of Muslim women who held political power from the earliest centuries of Islam through the seventeenth century. Drawing on stories from across Africa, the Middle East, and Asia, Verde challenges common assumptions and illuminates a rich, often overlooked history of women who ruled as powerful leaders.
