The library is excited to expand our offerings with new clubs joining our regular lineup! Alongside our Wednesday Knitting Group, the monthly Thursday Book Club and Human Services Book Discussion, you can now participate in Cook the Book Club, Adult Board Game Night, and the Youth Chess Club. Plus, stay tuned for a fresh book club inspired by popular reads on TikTok!
Here are 6 Compelling Reasons to Join a Club
- Meet New People: Joining a club is a fantastic way to connect with others who share your interests. Forge new friendships and expand your social circle!
“Right now, someone you haven’t met is out there wondering what it would be like to meet someone like you.” – Unknown
- Break the Monotony: It’s easy to fall into a routine. Joining a group can shake things up and introduce you to exciting new activities, whether it’s knitting, reading, cooking, or playing games.
- Exercise Your Mind: Learning new skills is beneficial for your brain. Contrary to past beliefs, we now know that our brains remain adaptable throughout life. Engaging in new experiences not only combats boredom but also supports mental health and cognitive function.
- Boost Your Confidence: The more you participate in club activities, the more confident you’ll become. For instance, our Cook the Book Club participants have progressively tackled more challenging recipes, delighting us with their culinary creations!
- Share Your Knowledge: Everyone has something valuable to contribute. Your life experiences and skills can greatly benefit your fellow club members, making you feel appreciated and useful.
- Stay Motivated: As the colder months approach, it can be tempting to hibernate at home. Joining a group that anticipates your participation is a wonderful way to stay motivated and get out and about!
