The Plot — The Pirates of Penzance is a comic opera about Frederic, a young man mistakenly apprenticed to a band of soft-hearted pirates. On his 21st birthday, he leaves the pirates and falls in love with Mabel, the daughter of a major general. But a twist in his contract forces him to choose between duty and love, leading to humorous chaos before all is resolved happily.
