Juliet Grames was born in Hartford, Connecticut, and grew up in a tight-knit Italian-American family. Her debut novel, The Seven or Eight Deaths of Stella Fortuna (Ecco/HarperCollins), was shortlisted for the New England Book Award and the Connecticut Book Award, receiving Italy’s Premio Cetraro for contribution to Southern Italian literature.
