DESCRIPTION:Marc Chagall: Joy\, Color & a Celebration of Jewish Culture \nMarc Chagall’s colorful\, abstracted paintings integrate a variety of elements from the modernist movements of the early twentieth century. His work is singular among his peers for its incorporation of Jewish themes\, reflecting the artist’s cultural roots. This program provides an introduction to Chagall’s personal and professional resilience\, his work and favorite subjects. \nJane Oneail curates and delivers art appreciation programs to audiences throughout New England. Jane holds a master’s in Art History from Boston University and a master’s in Education from Harvard University. Born and raised in NH\, she has worked at some of the state’s most esteemed cultural institutions\, including the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen\, where she served as Executive Director\, and the Currier Museum of Art\, where she held the role of Senior Educator. Jane has also taught at the college level for more than a decade\, most recently at Southern New Hampshire University. DESCRIPTION:April 18th at 5pm – Vietnam Today with Ray Uzanas – In 2023\, Ray travelled to Vietnam\, including a visit to Cambodia’s Angkor Wat\, the Hindu-Buddhist temple complex considered to be the largest religious structure in the world. Ray and two friends traversed the whole of Vietnam with a brief visit to Cambodia and will share their experiences with a slide show and accompanying lecture. This program is free and open to the public. You can also live stream on the SFL YouTube Channel. \nRay is a writer\, photographer and global adventurer who continues to travel the world in search of interesting and scenic regions of the world rich in wildlife and cultural diversity. Whether with his published books or lectures\, Uzanas best summarizes his intent simply:  “I hope my photographs and writings reasonably capture the best of nature’s artistry as well as its inhabitants and will be of interest and value to others.”
