Welcome to the Stonington
Free Library, located on Wadawanuck Square in the historic Borough of
Stonington, Connecticut. We serve all of the Town of Stonington, including
the villages of Mystic and Pawcatuck. Any resident of the Town of
Stonington can become a patron of the Library by applying for a library
card.
What's New
Spring Cleaning at the library - thanks to a capital improvement grant from the Town of Stonington, the Children's Room and the Teen Room have been painted and carpeted.
Have you noticed the 53 foot trailor in the library driveway? It contains 780 boxes of books, tables, chairs and book shelves from the main floor. We are painting and carpeting the center room (added 1956) and the stack area (added 1990). Once the carpet is installed, we will begin restoring everything to its place, which will take about a week.
We continue to have new books, movies and Internet access availble in the original library.
Thank you for your patience! Please come in and let us know what you think of our new look! |
As a fundraiser for the Stonington Free Library, the Stonington Education Fund and Pine Point School, Intramusical Theatricals will perform the final two performances of The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley at the Stonington High School Auditorium on May 18th.
This professional performance has been made possible through the efforts and support of The Friends of Jeff Brown, The Washington Trust Company, Robinson & Cole, The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, and others.

Thank
you to everyone who has so generously donated
to our 2007-2008 Annual Appeal.
We are three quarters of the way to our $125,000 goal, and, with your help, we hope to reach it. Your donations provide
over 1/3 of our income for the year, and we base
our decisions on material purchases, programs,
and other library needs on the response we get
to the appeal. Thank you for your continued support
of the Library. |
