"The Campaign for the Future that Builds on the Past"

What is the Capital Campaign?

In the spirit of growth and perpetuity the Library began its Capital Campaign to restore and update the Library building and to increase the endowment. The Campaign is separate from the Library’s Annual Appeal, which, along with grants and other gifts, supports daily program operations.

What is the goal of the Campaign?

The goal of the Campaign covers two major initiatives: restoring and modernizing the Library building and facilities; and increasing the endowment to meet future financial challenges.

Renovation...

Of the $750,000, $355,000 is earmarked for building projects: making critical repairs to the roof and the historic structure, and upgrading the heating, cooling and ventilation systems.

(See Photos of the Renovation.)

Endowment...

The remaining $395,000 will bring the Library’s endowment to a new level, increasing it from $700,000 to more than $1 million. While $700,000 remains an impressive accomplishment, the Library must grow in concert with demands for services, new technology, employee benefits and future building expenses, beyond its next 117 years.

Make a Pledge to Contribute to the Campaign

We are working steadily on our Capital Campaign, which is almost 90% of the way to our goal of $750,000. This means, of course, that we still need monetary support from our patrons. No donation is too small!

If you would like to contribute to the campaign, please continue to our Make a Pledge page.
